Answers to Common Questions About Our Concrete Services

Services & Capabilities

(What We Do / Don’t Do)

  • We specialize in concrete flatwork — driveways, patios, sidewalks, garages, basements, porches, and more. We also pour stamped and decorative concrete, commercial flatwork (warehouses, factories, retail, storage units, parking lots, etc.), and structural floors like grade beams. Check out our Services page for details, or contact us if you’re not sure whether your project fits.

  • We do not pour foundation walls — only flatwork. If you’re looking for walls, we recommend Todd Sommerfeld Construction (920-339-9948).

  • We do not do patch or crack repair. While there are overlay products and patch methods out there, in our experience they don’t hold up well and often end up looking worse over time. That’s why we only focus on full replacement — so you get a clean, long-lasting finish.

  • No, we do not offer mudjacking or concrete lifting. Our focus is full removal and replacement, which ensures the slab is re-graded properly and lasts long-term. If you’re looking for mudjacking or lifting, a quick Google search for “concrete lifting” in your area will bring up qualified companies who specialize in that service.

  • We do not currently offer resealing. Reseal timing and products vary by finish and exposure—please see our Concrete Care information for the most up-to-date guidance. Many homeowners DIY resealing; if you prefer a pro, search locally for “concrete resealing” or “decorative concrete maintenance.”

  • No, we do not offer power washing. Many local landscaping and maintenance companies provide that service.

  • We do not recolor stamped concrete. If your patio has faded, resealing can bring back depth and shine. For more advanced recoloring, we recommend checking with Ambrosius Concrete Supplies for product options.

  • For a couple of sidewalk squares, it’s usually more cost-effective to go through the City of Green Bay. Hendricks is a good fit for larger sidewalk projects — generally 15 sections or more.

  • We’ll handle demo and haul-away for concrete or blacktop. We do not remove decks, fences, or landscaping structures. If those need to be taken down for us to access your project area, they’ll need to be removed ahead of time by you or another contractor. Once that’s clear, our crew can take it from there.

  • No, we’re not a concrete supplier. We order from local ready-mix companies like Schmitz Ready Mix, Lycon, Peters, or Carew.

Customization & Options

  • You can see stamp and color options at our shop, where we have a sidewalk showcasing different patterns and color combinations. We also keep sample books in the office, and Ambrosius Concrete Supplies has an even wider range of patterns and color/release combinations. You do not need to decide right away — once your project is scheduled, our project manager will help finalize your choices.

  • Yes. Our team will ask questions about how you plan to use the space — for example, patio furniture, a firepit, or extra parking — and guide you on layouts and sizing so your slab fits your needs.

Process & Scheduling

  • The sooner, the better. For outdoor projects like driveways and patios, we recommend reaching out at least a season ahead — winter for spring or summer — since our summer schedule fills quickly. Outdoor work has limited time and higher demand, so it’s harder to squeeze in last-minute jobs.

For indoor projects like garage floors or warehouse spaces, a month or more ahead is usually fine. We often fit indoor work into rain days during summer and keep crews busy with indoor jobs in winter.

In the past, Hendricks was booked seasons in advance, sometimes years out. With three full crews now, our lead times are shorter — but demand changes from year to year. Reaching out early always gives you the best chance to lock in your ideal timing.

  • We typically schedule project visits between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday - Friday. If these times don’t work, we’ll find a solution to accommodate your schedule.

  • We prefer you’re on-site so we can talk through details and make sure we’re aligned. If you can’t be there, we’ll take measurements and photos, then follow up with a call before sending your estimate.

  • We work outdoors until temperatures consistently drop below freezing. Most years, that means mid-October.

  • Light foot traffic is fine after 24–48 hours. Vehicles and heavy loads need at least 14 days. See our Concrete Care & Warranty page for details.

  • Any decks, fences, landscaping, or non-concrete structures that block access need to be removed before our crew arrives. You’ll also confirm design and finish details directly with our project manager before the job begins.

Costs & Minimums

  • Pricing project size, type, location, site access, and many other factors. Pricing also depends on whether we’re working directly with a private homeowner or as a subcontractor for a builder/GC. As a general range, concrete flatwork runs from about $6–$20+ per square foot, with basic contractor work at the lower end and detailed homeowner projects (like decorative finishes) on the higher end.

  • Yes. Our minimum job size is 350 sqft. For projects located more than 45 miles from our office, the minimum is 1,500 sqft.

Service Area

  • We typically travel up to an hour from Green Bay. For projects more than 45 miles away, we require a 1,500 sq ft minimum. If you’re not sure, reach out and we’ll confirm.

Contractors & Commercial Projects

  • We specialize in flatwork for:

    • Industrial and warehouse floors

    • Retail and service floors

    • Parking lots and exterior slabs

    • Storage unit floors

    • Multi-family grade beam slabs and garages

    • Machine bases and equipment pads

  • Yes. Hendricks regularly pours grade beam slabs for multi-family developments, storage complexes, and other large-scale commercial projects that require structural support and load distribution.

  • We know time is money on commercial jobs. Builders and GCs count on us for:

    • Clear, consistent communication with your site team

    • Enough manpower and equipment to handle high-volume pours

    • Safety-focused crews that meet site standards

    • Pricing that’s competitive and predictable

  • Both. Most of our work is through GCs and builders, but we also work directly with business owners and facility managers when they need new slabs, machine bases, or parking lot replacement.

  • See our Subcontracting page for details on our process, scheduling, and approach to long-term builder partnerships.
